We offer the opportunity to steer yourself through your desert journey. Learn how to manage dune driving from an expert, feel the freedom to find your own way and enjoy huge sand dunes, overnight under the stars and a swim in the oasis.

Available from June to September.

Day 1: Cairo Airport - Hotel. 

Transfer to hotel. Welcome meeting at the hotel

Overnight Pearl Hotel or similar.

Day 2: Cairo - Two Depressions

Early Breakfast. Get in touch with your rolling home (delivery of your 4x4 car) – drive out of Cairo towards the Bahareya Road. We will reach the area of Two Depressions around lunch time. After lunch we will have a short theory session about driving in sand dunes. May be in the evening we put theory into practice for the first time and have a short drive in the area.

Day 3: Off-Road Driving Course - Abu Mahareq Dune

We start in the morning with our first part of practical driving lessons. After lunch we will drive along the Abu Mohareq Dunes.

Day 4: Bahareya - Farafra - Darb Dakhla

After a short drive we reach a road and drive along to the first gas station(our cars are thirsty also!).

Next stop will be in the oasis of Bahareya. Feel the shade of an oasis and have a nice swim in one of the natural wells. In the late afternoon we will head out to the desert again and will find a nice spot towards the Abu Mohareq dunes.

Day 5: Abu Mahareq Dunes  

We will spent the whole day driving along the Abu Mohareq dunes and experience the different desert landscapes.

Day 6: Abu Mahareq Dunes - Djara Cave - White Desert National Park 

We start our day driving along the Abu Mohareq Dunes until we reach a road.

Not far from here we will visit the Djara Cave – a cave of stalagtites and stalagmites that was first discovered by the german explorer Gerhard ROHLFS for christmas 1873.

We will drive along that road again towards the White Desert National Park.

Day 7: White Desert National Park

We spent the whole day in the White Desert Natural park, passing also by a spring and taking pictures of the different sculptures.

Day 8: El Haiz - Black Desert - Bahareya 

In the morning we start heading back to Cairo with a stop over at the small El Haiz Oasis for a swim. Our next stop will be the Black Desert before we arrive in the Bahareya Oasis. We will find a camping spot near the oasis.

Day 9: World Heritage Site of Wadi Haitan - Kusur al Arab - Cairo

After breakfast we finally drive back to Cairo to our hotel.

After having returned the cars, have some time to take a shower, buy souvenirs or just sit in one of the many coffee shops. In the evening around sun set we have a felucca ride on the nile.

Day 10: Hotel - Airport

International Departure with Airport transfer - or the possibility to extend your tour. We are happy to offer individual options. (B)
