Venture out on a 12-day adventure taking in the best, most exhilarating, interesting, cultured and local experiences in Egypt’s cities.

Beginning in Cairo, you’ll visit the much-revered emblem of the City – the Pyramids and Sphinx. Whilst here, you’ll also experience a traditional wooden felucca ride down the River Nile.

Whilst travelling through Egypt visiting ancient monuments, incredible temples and laying eyes on endless landscapes, you’ll also experience camping in the desert of Fayoum, close to the famous pottery village of Tunis and the Rayan Waterfalls.

You’ll visit the iconic attractions of Siwa Egypt’s westernmost oasis that is inhabited by the Berbers who have retained their traditions for centuries. In addition, Siwa is famous for its lush palms and olive trees as well as the hot ‘Bir Wahet’ spring and the ‘Amun Temple’.

Spending part of your time under the special hospitality of a private local guesthouse in Middle Egypt experience the local food and people.

You’ll finish your journey back in Cairo where you’ll once again experience the sounds, sights and smells of this energetic city!

Trip details:

  • Day 1: After arrival at Cairo International Airport we organise your pick-up and transfer to your hotel. Your cosy hotel is located in a nice and green area of Cairo – Maadi – where you can easily have a shopping or coffee walk.
  • Day 2: The next day our guide will show you some of the main attractions even of Egypt – the Pyramids of Sakkara and the Sphinx, as well as the famous oriental bazar, Khan al Khalili with its special atmosphere.
  • Day 3 : From the mother of  the world to mother nature. Indulge in travelling with 4x4 cars to the majestic scenery of sand, mountains and light. Always worth a visit – the wonderful desert landscape including the cultural World heritage of the valley of Whales, Wadi El Hitan, Fayoum. Also the new museum at the entrance will give you insider informations about the evolution and the walk through the remains of the sea-world in the middle of the desert is a „must have seen“ in Egypt.  Optional: Stop-over in the pottery village of Tunis on your way back.
  • Day 4: Off of to the Oasis of Siwa. Siwa is Egypt’s westernmost oasis that is inhabited by the Berbers who have retained their traditions for centuries. In addition, Siwa is famous for its lush palms and olive trees as well as the hot ‘Bir Wahet’ spring and the ‘Amun Temple’. After a long journey you check in to Shali Lodge, a traditional hotel that delightfully connects old habits and customs with modern spirit.
  • Day 5 and 6: Visiting Siwa’s historic centre. Guests interested in souvenir and other shopping possibilities will find remarkable handcrafts. One of the region’s main attractions is the hot ‘Bir Wahet’ spring. Hence, we will start the trip with  four-wheel cars so as to both enjoy a warm bath in the spring and to experience first-hand the majestic sand dune landscapes in the vicinity. The ‘Mountain of the Dead’, otherwise known as ‘Gebel Mowta’, is also on our way. The entire mountain plateau is covered with old family graves that go back to the 26th dynasty and the living can enjoy a wonderful view. The oracle temple ‘Amun’ is also included in the progam. Legend has it that a black priest who was  burned to ashes in the desert became an oracle and founded the temple. 
  • Day 7: We are heading back to Cairo with a stop-over at the museum of El Alamein. 
  • Day 8 - 9 - 10: After another night in your hotel in Cairo – once again – you will change your location. Only a 3 hours drive gets you to our private farmland location in Deir Abu Henis (Middle-Egypt), where you will be hosted like VIP’s or an appreciated member of the family and where the homemade meals are delicious. Far away from any mass tourism, our private guide is ready to walk with you along the Nile. While walking you might explore the daily life of fishermen and farmers and you will enjoy a huge number of picturesque places.  Have a look in the houses of the village where people live in another world and join a little Felucca-Trip ending up in nature.
  • Day 11: Your adventure will be sealed again in your hotel in Cairo. You will visit the Citadel and Coptic Cairo
  • Day 12: your international flight is ready for take off.
